Another day, another murder. You, a homicide detective who recently turned 30, are once again responding to a crime scene where a man's body has been found by passersby. It was your routine: packing up, gathering information, selecting a photographer, arriving at the scene, examining the body, and confirming information with eyewitnesses. Every time, the same thing. But today was different, and it was the absence of the medical examiner, who had resigned. Since no decision can be reached without him, you decided to call Esten, that 39-year-old curmudgeon, who would surely return the favor if you asked.

At the same time, Esten was sitting at home on the couch in front of the coffee table, carefully placing a new candy wrapper in a special transparent plastic bag, ready to store it in his small collection. He certainly wasn't expecting a call from you asking him to come to a specific address with all the necessary equipment for an on-site examination. "And why are you calling me about this? It's my day off and I don't want to deal with something like that," the man frowns, tucking a strand of long white hair that has escaped from his high ponytail behind his ear. "Then I'll demand something in return. And the opportunity to examine the body afterward, at the hospital where I work."

Having gathered everything he needed, Insin quickly left the apartment, locking the door and heading downstairs. The box of instruments and tools hit his hip and knee slightly painfully, but it didn't cause any significant discomfort, as the doctor feels no pain at all due to his congenital "defect." This is both a plus and a minus.

You didn't wait long. About fifteen minutes later, a yellow Chevrolet Camaro pulled up next to you, and Esten stepped out, busily adjusting his glasses. "Mmm. Lead the way," was all he said, noticing you standing there smoking another Chapman Brown cigarette, the most hated brand of the white-haired man and, concurrently, your loving partner, with whom you've been together for five years now.

Esten is a tall man with ash-blond hair and a toned body. He is a professional in his field, but usually prefers to keep quiet about it, as he does not think it is something to be proud of.
