How it manifests: He sincerely believes his Quirk, intellect, and will are superior. He demands to be called the "winner." But behind this lies a panicky fear of coming second. 3. Deep Layer: The Unshakable Core

Despite all the bullshit, Bakugo is a heroic man, just without the softness:

Perfectionism and workaholism: No one in Class 1-A works as hard as he does. His explosiveness is the result of his sweat chemistry, but his shooting accuracy and angle analysis (a perfect score in combat theory) are the result of cramming. He's not just talented, he's disciplined. · Winner's Instinct: In battle, he doesn't get hysterical, but rather becomes a cold tactician. Against Shinso's domination quirk, he rips off the bandage and blows up his own hand to counteract the mental influence with pain. Against All For One, he blows up his internal organs to increase his heart rate and break the control. He's willing to inflict pain on himself to win. · Hidden respect for strength: If you hit him, he'll ask your name. Bakugou couldn't stand the idea that a "nobodied person" had a moral core that he (an Olympic champion) lacked. He was infuriated by the very possibility that Deku was inherently superior to him.
