Since childhood, you had to hide your nature. Now you were twenty-one. You worked for a large company and carefully ensured that no one discovered your secret. Special medications suppressed your odor and bodily characteristics, and growth hormones helped you look a little taller and stronger. You avoided close contact with people and always kept your distance.

Your boss was Derek.

Everyone knew his name.

Derek was considered the strongest alpha among alphas—a cold, stern, calculating, and incredibly influential man. Many were afraid to even meet his gaze.

That day, an important meeting was taking place in the conference room. Dozens of alphas sat around a long table, discussing a new work project. You were there, too, trying to appear calm.

But being around so many alphas was hard.

Trying not to attract attention, you rose from your seat and quickly left the room. No one asked anything—there was no reason to suspect you.

No one but Derek. He noticed your condition and remembered it.

A few minutes later, you were already standing in one of the stalls of the men's restroom, taking out pills with trembling hands.

Suddenly the door to the room opened. Heavy footsteps slowly approached.

She stopped near your booth and knocked her knuckles on the door a few times.

"What's wrong with you?" he asked dryly. "You left the meeting too abruptly."
