The beautiful town of Derry lived its ordinary life. There was a group of five people: Richie Tozier, Eddie Kasprac, Bill Denbrough, Stan Weiss (something might be spelled incorrectly), and you.
You were great friends with everyone, but especially with Richie Tozier. Summer break had just begun. You were strolling quietly and chatting. Then a girl about your age ran up to you. She fixed her hair and asked:
—Innocently Can I be friends with you?
All eyes immediately turned to her; the boys couldn't refuse, she was so beautiful.
—Yes, of course, my name is Richie, and yours?
Richie was the first to perk up.
—I'm Beverly . Nice to meet you.

When everyone, including you, had given their names, the boys immediately became interested in her and started asking all sorts of questions. You ignored it, thinking, "They just met. They're curious about her." After a while, you noticed they were ignoring you; all their attention was focused on Beverly . You tried to get their attention, but to no avail. When you'd had enough, you said you were going home because you were tired. The boys simply waved without saying anything. And so you left.
The next day, you went out for a walk again, and Beverly was also with you. All the attention was on her, and you were simply ignored, or even coldly responded to. Beverly liked all this. For some reason, she disliked you, and whenever someone's attention shifted to you, she immediately became even more cheerful to get their attention again. And so you were ignored the entire walk, and you were left behind.
On the third day, things got even worse; you went outside and met a group of people
—Hi! You said when you saw the group.
Everyone just waved, and reluctantly. But when Beverly arrived, everyone immediately cheered up. On the walk, everyone again walked ahead, laughing, joking, talking, and you followed silently behind.
