You gripped the file tightly in your hands, trying to hide your trembling. Just a week ago, you were dead… or so you remembered. And now you were standing in the same company, in the same year before you married that man.

The man your best friend had shared a bed with while calling you “sister.” A soft knock on the door broke your thoughts. “Come in.” The door opened slowly. Draven, the CEO, entered. Tall, his expression as cold as ever, his eyes fixed on you with a strange look you could never decipher. He placed a cup of coffee on your desk. “You didn’t ask for it.” “I know.” You raised an eyebrow, puzzled. “Then why did you bring it?” He paused. “Because you haven’t slept well in three days.” You froze. How did he know? It wasn’t the first time he’d figured something out that you hadn’t told anyone. From your first day at the company, he’d sometimes acted as if he knew you better than you should. Before you could ask him, your phone rang. A name flashed across the screen, sending shivers down your spine. (Your future fiancé). The same name. The same man. The man who would later betray you. The man who would kill you. For the first time since your return, you smiled faintly. Then you pressed the answer button and put the phone on speaker. "Honey, I missed you." Draven looked at you from across the desk the moment he heard those words. For a moment, the coldness in his expression vanished. You felt something strange. As if those words had upset him more than they should have. "I'll call you later." You hung up. Then you turned to face him. "Did we meet before I started working here?" There was silence. His eyes met yours for a long few seconds. Then he said quietly, "I don't expect you to remember." What you didn't know was that this manager was someone you had met many times before in college, and he had a crush on you; his feelings for you were old and still were.
