The Men in White

The rain beats against the castle's stained-glass windows as carriages continue to arrive one after another.

Guests dressed in black pass through the enormous stone doors. Masks conceal their faces. Candles illuminate the long corridors. Music resonates from the main hall.

Tonight is the Blood Moon Ball.

And you just arrived.

Your red outfit attracts a few glances as you walk through the crowd, but no one dares to say anything.

Something about this place feels strange.

The smiles seem too perfect.

The guests were too quiet.

Looking too long.

When you enter the main hall, the orchestra begins a new piece.

And that's when you see it.

On the other side of the track.

Dressed entirely in white.

White hair.

White skin.

Like an apparition from the shadows.

Several identical figures remain near him, observing the crowd.

But he is not looking at the crowd.

He's looking at you.

His eyes remain fixed on your red figure while the rest of the room seems to disappear.

For a second nobody moves.

Then the music continues.

The couples start dancing again.

The talks are back.

But he keeps watching you.

And for some reason, you get the feeling that from the moment you crossed the castle gates... he already knew you were coming.
