Optimus Prime is the titular protagonist of Transformers: Prime and the titular protagonist of Transformers: Robots in Disguise.
Over the centuries, loss and war have made Optimus seem stern and serious to most. But look closer, and you'll see a man who genuinely cares for his fellow humans, displaying a warmth and kindness that his closest friends can rely on. You'll also see regret that his comrade has fallen victim to the darkness, and a faint glimmer of hope that he can be saved.

Appearance
Optimus Prime is a large Cybertronian with an athletic, muscular build. His body color scheme combines predominantly red and blue with accents of gray and black. His helmet, with ear-like "antennas," is equipped with a built-in radio behind the "ear" and a visor that, like a knight's, covers the lower half of Prime's face in battle. His eyes glow a light blue, close to blue, and his small pupils are also equipped with a depth-of-focus system. The dual Autobot logo on his shoulder pads serves as a tracking device, allowing both allies and enemies to locate him.
After his restoration at the beginning of Season 3, Optimus's appearance became identical to that of the alternate version of the character from Michael Bay's MCU. His body segmentation and some of his complexion changed, with the red and blue colors spreading evenly across his body. He also gained a jetpack with double wings.

Armament

The blade is a long, pointed blade with blue LEDs.
The Double-Barreled Cannon is a firearm that fires blue plasma. Its shots deal significant damage and are capable of killing small to medium-sized Decepticons.
Both weapons are organic, retractable parts of Optimus's body—he simply transforms his hands into weapons, like many others of his race. During and after his time in the Realm of the Primes, he wore thin, white, rectangular glasses with dangling silver threads on the temples.

A giant like Optimus requires an alt mode to match. Prime's alternate vehicle form emerged during the outbreak of the Cybertron War, a wheeled all-terrain vehicle not typical of Earth. Upon arriving on Earth, for better camouflage, a Freightliner Coronado truck served as his alt mode. After Optimus's body was restored with the help of Solus Prime's Hammer, in Season 3, his alt mode changed, as did Prime's entire body. The Autobot's new alt mode is a truck similar to a Peterbilt 379, but a more discreet model, reminiscent of Prime's camouflage from his time on Cybertron.

For many of his subordinates, Optimus Prime is a mythical figure, a force capable of turning the tide of battle with his mere presence and routing Decepticon forces. But the truth is, Optimus is not only strong but also wise, ready to dispense wise counsel as often as he strikes. This doesn't mean he relishes the thrill of battle—quite the opposite, in fact. In an ideal world, Optimus and Megatron could settle their dispute peacefully, avoiding further destruction on Cybertron and the galaxy, but alas, Optimus's adversaries often leave him no choice. Nevertheless, in the heat of battle, Optimus always shows the utmost respect for his opponents. Optimus never seeks conflict, but rarely refuses to fight for what's right and defend his beliefs, even when the odds are slim.
Millennia of war have shaped Optimus into a serious, even stern leader who prefers action over talk. Although he often hides his emotions, Optimus cares deeply for the well-being of his Autobots and humans, and to some extent even for the lives of his Decepticon enemies—for Optimus, all lives are sacred. Unlike his nemesis Megatron, Optimus views humans and other races as equals to Cybertronians, which ultimately led him to destroy the Omega Lock when the Decepticon commander attempted to use it to transform Earth into Cybertron.
Optimus, surprisingly, is also quite diligent in his studies, considering he was once Orion Pax's archivist. Before receiving the Matrix of Leadership, Orion was a humble working-class bot in the service of Alpha Trion. Timid and taciturn, yet endlessly courageous, Orion was a bright-eyed dreamer who envisioned a better future for Cybertron. Despite his many strengths, Orion's naivety was perhaps his greatest weakness, easily exploited.

Forearm-mounted blasters – Optimus Prime's primary weapon was essentially a pair of blasters built directly into his forearms. He could use them at will by transforming his forearms, and while they were capable of delivering lethal blows to low-grade Transformers, they were only able to slow down larger bots like Skyquake and Megatron. After Optimus was upgraded at the Solus Prime Forge, these cannons were converted from double-barreled to single-barreled.
Arm-mounted blades – Optimus Prime rarely used the blades embedded in his right and left forearms, but he did possess them. Like blasters, they could be used at will. He notably used these blades several times during his battle with Megatron, though the blade embedded in his right forearm was shattered. He presumably lost the ability to use these blades after being upgraded at the Solus Prime Forge.
Star Saber - Optimus Prime eventually came into possession of the Star Saber after deciphering its coordinates. Prima's mystical sword possessed immense power—its blade could generate powerful energy pulses capable of inflicting serious damage on a ship the size of the Nemesis and killing Megatron. The sword was temporarily broken by Megatron with his Dark Star Saber, but it was repaired at the Solus Prime Forge.
Minigun - After being upgraded at the Solus Prime Forge, Optimus Prime received a powerful and formidable minigun as his primary weapon, which he used to quickly dispatch a horde of Autobots and destroy Megatron's throne room in Darkmount. He lost this weapon during the final confrontation with Megatron in Earth orbit.
The Matrix of Leadership is the most powerful weapon in Optimus Prime's arsenal. The Matrix of Leadership is a reliquary that holds the wisdom of the ancient Primes and grants Optimus limitless knowledge. The Matrix was the only thing that could harm Unicron, the divine being of chaos.

Powers and abilities
Cybertron Physiology - Like Cybertron, Optimus Prime possesses physical capabilities far superior to those of humans.
Cybertronian Strength – Optimus Prime demonstrated incredible strength, perhaps even surpassing that of his rival. He was capable of dealing devastating blows to Megatron and even Starscream in his Apox armor. His enhanced form could rival Predakin in power. Thanks to the power of the Primes, he was even able to briefly duel Megatronus. However, his greatest feat was stopping a moving train with his bare hands.
Cybertrojan Endurance – Optimus Prime's endurance is arguably unmatched. He easily withstood blaster fire from Transformers, Skyquake, and even Megatron, and showed no visible signs of injury. However, he has his limits, as became clear when a blast from the Dark Star Saber critically wounded him.
Cybertrojan durability—Optimus Prime's resilience to external influences is no less astonishing. He absorbed the full force of a Decepticon's heat ray and continued moving forward as if nothing had happened. During his battle with Megatron, he was also exposed to Dark Energon for an extended period of time, yet still managed to defeat the Decepticon commander.
Cybertronian Speed ​​– Optimus Prime's truck, while not designed for speed, is capable of speeds far exceeding those of a typical human truck. This speed was further increased when Optimus received a jetpack upgrade at the Solus Prime Forge, and he was now likely capable of hypersonic speeds.
Cybertronic Stamina - Optimus Prime could maintain his stamina for unnaturally long periods of time, such as when he and Ratchet fought a horde of zombie Terrorcons or when he sword-fighted Megatron and Dreadwing, respectively.
