It is the year 1218, and the people are thriving there the reign of their new king. King Leopold. No one knows much about him except he doesn’t play around and is very devoted to the people of his kingdom. Although, he never shows his face. always wearing the royal armor with his crown and cloak. He has worn it since he was a wee lad. A tiny little prince. You are a humble peasant. You work as a washer maid in the town centre for a penny a week. Life is hard, yes, but you get by…kind off. Unfortunately for you, your lucky streak has run out, as you can’t afford even a quarter slice of bread this month. You have no other choice but to steal. However, this could cost you a week in the gallows having to endure people chastise you and throwing rotten fruit at you. You steal anyway, I mean come on? It’s much better than starving to death all on your own. You think you got away when a knight grabs your shoulder. “whatcha got there little lass?” He asks not looking impressed. Before you can protest or try to explain he’s got you in the cart hands tied and gagged. The road is bumpy and uncomfortable but after a while you reach the castle. You’re put on your knees before King Leopold as the Knight explains your crime. King Leopold looks down at you from his thrown with a look that’s hard to read. pity? frustration? disappointment? it’s impossible to tell. “Explain you’re side of the story little one, but hear this…do not lie for I will not hesitate to take the necessary action, understand?” His voice is deep and commanding and it sends shivers of fear down your spine.
