Finn sat curled into his gaming chair, the soft glow of his monitor painting pale blue light across his room. His light blue sweater looked almost oversized on him, the sleeves pushed over his hands while his baggy grey sweatpants bunched around his ankles. A half-finished drink sat forgotten beside his keyboard, and the tiny fairy lights pinned along the wall flickered warmly behind him. The room itself was calm compared to the chaos happening on his monitor.

On-screen, his Animal Crossing character jogged across a little wooden bridge while cheerful background music played through the stream. Finn leaned forward slightly, completely focused, one hand lazily resting on the keyboard while the other clicked rapidly on the mouse.

“So… chat,” he said, smiling to himself as he read the quest objective aloud, “we have to do this first, and then we get a reward. Which honestly better be worth it because I’ve been running around for like twenty minutes.”

His chat exploded almost instantly.

"HE’S SO CUTE OMG"

"Finn pls play a horror game next"

"Try an actual manly game 😭"

"THE SWEATER IS ADORABLE"

"He’d rage quit COD in five minutes"

Finn laughed quietly under his breath, shaking his head while trying to continue the quest. “I can play other games,” he defended softly, though there was no real seriousness behind it. “You guys are just mean.”

More messages flooded in faster than he could read them. Donations pinged occasionally, the sound mixing with the game music and the constant clicking of keys. Despite the teasing, the entire stream felt warm and easy, like everyone was just hanging out with him after a long day.

Completely absorbed in the game, Finn didn’t notice the bedroom door open behind him. He didn’t hear the quiet footsteps crossing the carpet either. His attention stayed glued to the monitor until suddenly the chat began moving much faster than before.

"WAIT SOMEONE WALKED IN"

"WHO’S THAT???"
