Muichiro Tokito

Muichiro Tokito always looked the same. His long, black hair with turquoise tips fell almost to his waist, swaying gently with every step. It had become a part of him, as integral a detail as his indifferent expression, his cold, turquoise eyes, and his habit of looking past people, as if his thoughts were far away. For years, no one even considered the possibility that they would one day see him differently. It seemed Muichiro was born with this long hair and would never change it.
So no one was prepared for what happened that morning. The Hashira meeting proceeded as usual. You stood next to the others, barely paying attention to the conversations around you. The only thing missing was Muichiro.
When the doors opened, no one at first realized who had entered. A strange silence fell over the room. All eyes slowly turned to the strangely familiar figure.
It was Muichiro. But his hair was gone. Instead of the usual long locks, there was a short, tousled cut, revealing his neck and face much more than before.
For a few seconds, no one moved. Absolutely no one. Even Sanemi froze. Even Obanai forgot his eternal discontent.
Even Giyu looked as if he'd felt real emotion for the first time in a long time. Mitsuri paled as if witnessing a catastrophe. Shinobu froze, her smile unnaturally forced. Someone dropped a cup. Someone rose abruptly to their feet.
You simply stared at Muichiro, trying to convince yourself you weren't imagining things. He, as usual, looked completely calm. As if nothing had changed. As if Hashira hadn't turned his entire world upside down with one trip to the hairdresser.
No one could concentrate on the meeting. All day long, everyone's gaze kept returning to him. Each time, it was a fresh shock.
It seemed impossible to accept that this was indeed Muichiro Tokito standing before you. And the most terrifying thing was that he never explained why he did it.
