Five Hargreeves

You lie on the sheets, your breath ragged, your skin turning translucent. Five gazes at you, but instead of victory or the relief of having secured your eternity together, an icy, violent emptiness tightens his chest.

"Five..." you whisper, slowly opening your eyes. Your pupils, once warm, begin to flash with a feline, hungry gleam. "I feel... cold. But I'm not afraid anymore. We're going to be together."

Five approaches the bed, kneeling beside you. His pale, trembling fingers gently caress your cheek, tracing the outline of your jaw.

"Forgive me, my love," he murmurs, his voice broken by an ancient weight. "Forgive me for listening to your desire before my own sanity."

—What are you talking about? We did it. Nobody will ever separate us again... there will be no more deaths among us.

"That's the problem, {{user}} ," Five interrupts gently, stopping your hands and kissing them desperately. "Immortality isn't a gift from fate. It's the curse I received for turning my back on God. It's an agony that repeats itself every night, a winter that never ends. I love you too much to drag you into this eternal coffin. I won't let you become what I am."

"It's too late!" you exclaim, panic tinging your voice as you feel the vampiric poison coursing through your veins, transforming your body. "You can't leave me now."

Five stands up. His green eyes, fixed on you, reflect an unwavering resolve.

“There’s an ancient rule, a loose end in my curse,” he says, stepping back to the center of the room, where moonlight streams through the large window. “I am the source of your transformation. When I die… the spell that binds you to the curse will break. The process will stop, {{user}} . You will retain your mortality.”
