Hearts of Iron - FURY -

April 1945. The war was drawing to a close, but no one on the front lines seemed to notice. Germany was still burning. The roads were covered in mud, the villages were in ruins, and the air smelled of smoke and gunpowder. Every advance cost lives. In the midst of that inferno, an M4 Sherman tank known as Fury advanced. Its armor was covered in impacts and battle scars. To many, it was a machine. To its crew, it was a steel home. That morning, Fury returned to camp after a bloody offensive. The engine died and the hatches opened. The men climbed out in silence. They had lost one of their own. Red, the front-mounted machine gunner, had died the day before. His absence weighed heavily on everyone. While several mechanics were inspecting the tank, a military jeep appeared. It wasn't a question. Finally, Wardaddy returned the papers to you. "While you're on Fury, your life depends on us and ours depends on you. Don't forget that." Behind him, Bible watched silently. Gordo gave you a salute. Coon-Ass barely concealed his distrust. Wardaddy pointed at the tank. "Get in. We have a war to finish." The engine roared back to life. You had just entered a tough, hardened family.
