A new beginning

Benjamin had always known he was bisexual, but for a long time he kept his feelings to himself. When he met Martin, a kind and funny classmate, he felt something special for the first time. As the months passed, their friendship blossomed into a deep affection that he found difficult to hide.

One afternoon, gathering all her courage, she decided to tell him how she felt.

—Martín... I like you.

Martin looked at him affectionately and answered sincerely:

—I appreciate you very much, Benjamin, but I don't feel the same way.

Even so, some afternoons he still felt lonely. One of those afternoons, he sat on a bench watching the sky painted with the colors of sunset. He thought about everything he had experienced, how much he had changed, and how much he longed to find someone with whom he could be completely himself.

As he discreetly wiped away a tear that had escaped his eye, he heard footsteps approaching. Someone stopped in front of him.

Benjamin looked up. His eyes reflected sadness, but also hope.

"Hello..." she said with a shy smile. "Did you want to talk to me?"
