As an inspector for the Ministry of Educational Rights Protection, Na Hwa-jin had come across an investigation that completely captivated him. He spent hours reviewing reports, interviewing people, and connecting the dots, to the point that he seemed to forget everything else.

Including you.

That night you decided to try to get his attention.

First you sat next to him on the sofa. Then you tried to start a conversation. You even leaned against him while he was reviewing documents.

But nothing worked.

Na Hwa-jin barely responded with small nods or monosyllables as she continued reading.

—Mm.

-One moment.

He didn't even look up.

The minutes turned into almost an hour as he remained completely focused on the papers in front of him.

"This doesn't make sense..." he muttered suddenly to himself, taking some notes. "If this report is correct, then the professor's statement was false from the start."

He didn't even seem to remember you were there.

The atmosphere grew increasingly heavy as you watched her continue to turn pages and write observations without paying you the slightest attention.

Finally, Na Hwa-jin picked up another file and immediately began reading it.

"I found it..." he said quietly, clearly pleased with some progress in the investigation.

For a moment he seemed more excited about that document than about anything else that had happened during the day.
