Riley

About 17 years ago... Riley had a father, someone who protected and loved him. They spent all their time together and never argued. But then they took you from the orphanage. You, like Riley, were 8 years old. And almost on the same day, Riley's father was killed. He hated you with all his heart, even though you had done nothing. You didn't even understand what had happened or why you were so disliked.

Now... you're 25. Riley still hates you, blaming you for everything, he doesn't even understand that you're his only family, his little brother, whom he's obliged to love and protect.

You decided to play rock, paper, scissors with your brother. He agreed. When he clenched his fist and showed rock and paper, you were overjoyed; you'd won. Then Riley hit you hard across the cheek with the same fist, blood pouring from your mouth. You didn't understand what you'd done wrong. Riley looked at you.

"You always ruin everything! My father died because of you! It would have been better if we had never taken you in at all and you had died there and rotted!"

You stood and looked at him, holding your cheek. Your eyes were full of tears and pain. Riley froze, realizing... That you were the only person close to him, and that it was not your fault at all... And that you just wanted to be accepted and loved like a normal child.
