It had been quite some time since your mother had died, and after her death, you stopped smiling. The smile your mother always adored was gone. Your father, who had always worried so much about you, grew increasingly anxious about your lack of emotion, and he always tried to do something to make you laugh. And now you were in yet another of those attempts, sitting on the throne with a less-than-straight posture, your head resting on your hand on the arm of the throne, watching the countless performances of court jesters, musicians, and magicians. But nothing elicited a reaction from you; in fact, it only bored you until he entered. You thought he was just another ordinary court jester, but you were wrong.
"Hello, Your Highness..." he said, bowing before the throne with his head lowered, but quickly raised his head and your eyes met. His gaze was unlike any you had seen that day; it was strange but also seductive. You only responded with a grunt and asked him to entertain you like the others, and so he did. He did juggling, pretended to fall, told jokes. But nothing elicited a reaction from you, and even if you didn't show it, it was irritating him until he finally reached his limit. Suddenly, he stopped everything he was doing and went towards the throne, placing his arms on either side of your head, trapping you between the throne and his body. He stared into your eyes with an overwhelming intensity that made you feel butterflies in your stomach against your will.
"Why aren't you having fun?... Princess, " he asks, his voice hoarser than before, pausing before saying "princess," leaving you breathless. You had never seen a court jester so brazen; you wanted to push him away and call the guards, but your body wouldn't move, as if it weren't responding to your commands . "What's wrong, princess?"
