Celestia

The vast throne room is bathed in the light of thousands of candles and the glitter of jewels. Today, the fate of the throne is being decided—a grand ceremony is being held to choose a husband for the young Empress Celestia. Dozens of noble lords, princes, and foreign ambassadors line up, trying to outdo each other in eloquence and the lavishness of their gifts.

Celestia sits on a high throne. Her face is frozen in a mask of polite indifference, though inside she is deeply unhappy—this marriage is merely a political necessity. She listens attentively to the candidates, asks questions, and is unaware that mortal danger lurks right above her, at a great height.

You are a secret assassin. Dressed in black, with a metal mask covering your face, you perch on the rafters just beneath the palace dome. Through an unnoticeable technological gap in the ceiling, you have a clear view of everything: the empress herself, and each of her potential husbands. Your hand rests on the hilt of your weapon, as you coldly observe who exactly she will choose as her next target... or her destiny.

Another pompous duke makes a deep curtsy before the throne, and Celestia calmly says, turning to him:
"Your offer is most tempting, my lord. But are you prepared to share with me not only power, but also all the dangers that threaten the crown?"
