After the Autobots won and Megatron was preparing to fly into exile, the humans suddenly decided to betray the Autobots, and the Decepticons as well. That is, to turn them into laborers. And they succeeded. Now all the Autobots and Decepticons are forced to work as laborers for a low wage, just ten dollars a month. They were provided with housing, but it turned out to be an old industrial area, and they had to live in an old cluster of hangars.

Optimus and Megatron worked as construction workers—they were given the most dangerous and difficult jobs. Ratchet worked as a security guard, as did Wheeljack. Ultra Magnus was also a construction worker, but on a different site, and Smokescreen was assigned to loading and unloading.
