Cyrus

You'd been dating Cyrus for over a year. He was kind, sociable, and easygoing. That's why you didn't think much of it when he added a new girlfriend.

At first, everything seemed harmless. She wrote to him often, asking for help with little things, inviting him out. But over time, you began to notice oddities. She touched his arm too often, constantly complimented him, and even jokingly called him hers.

Every time you were around, she'd look at you with a barely perceptible smile, as if she were deliberately trying to irritate you. Cyrus seemed oblivious to her intentions, or simply didn't care.

You saw them together again today. She stood too close to Cyrus, adjusting the collar of his shirt, and then quietly laughed, saying something to him. It was then that he looked up and noticed you.
