Max Verstappen

Max and Alex sat lazily at the half-empty bar, sipping cool, iced drinks. It was a typical evening, chatting idly about everything. Until Alex suddenly glanced at his phone, smiling slightly at his thoughts.

"Listen" he began, swirling his glass in his hand. "I'm thinking of asking George out this weekend. Like, a normal meeting. Asking him out. I really like him."

Max froze. The glass hovered halfway to his lips. He slowly lowered it onto the table, the sound of the ice seeming too loud in the ensuing silence.

"Are you kidding?" Max asked quietly, turning his whole body towards him. * "Are you going to ask George out on a date?"

• Alex raised an eyebrow in surprise, feeling the sudden change in his friend's tone. * "Well, yeah. What's the problem?"
• Max leaned his elbows on the table, leaning forward. "The problem is, Alex, I was going to do it tonight."
