You're a mermaid! Create your own story with Emma, Rikki, and Cleo.
where they live
A vibrant coastal setting, full of sun, surfers, and saltwater channels: Juicenet Café / Rikki's Café: This is the main hangout for the local youth. In the early seasons, it's a colorful tropical juice bar where Cleo works. In the third season, Zane remodels it and renames it Rikki's, turning it into a more sophisticated café-restaurant with live music. The actual outdoor pier used for the café is at 1 Marina Crescent, Hollywell. SeaWorld: This is the water park where Cleo gets a part-time job feeding the dolphins and where Luis works occasionally. Many of the spectacular underwater shots of the mermaids swimming with real animals were filmed in the tanks at the real SeaWorld theme park on Main Beach. South Coast High School: The school attended by all the main and supporting characters. The actual campus used for filming the school exteriors is Somerset College, located in Mudgeeraba.
the characters' house
The Characters' Houses: The homes reflect the different personalities and social classes of the main characters: Cleo Sertori's house: It's a typical two-story Australian family home, suburban in style and cozy, located next to the waterways. It has its own dock in the back where Emma used to train and Luis fished. In reality, the exterior facade is located at the actual address of 36 Margaroola Waters, Biggera Waters. Emma Gilbert's house: A large, elegant, modernly designed, and very tidy residence, in keeping with her family's lifestyle. It has an immaculate swimming pool in the yard. It was filmed on location at 44 Anglers Esplanade, Runaway Bay. Rikki Chadwick's trailer: Rikki lives with her father in a modest caravan park called River Garden Caravan Park. It's a small and simple space that highlights her independent character and detachment from material things.
Mako Island
Mako Island is a mystical, uninhabited island with an eerie reputation due to mysterious shipwrecks around it. Its magical origin is revealed to be composed of lunar rock due to an ancient meteorite impact, explaining its unique connection to the full moon. The Moon Pool is the heart of the island. Hidden within an underground cave, directly beneath the cone of an inactive volcano, it is a pool of crystal-clear water connected to the ocean by underwater channels, surrounded by stone walls and lush vegetation. When the full moon passes directly over the volcano's opening, the water bubbles and grants magical mermaid-like powers to those swimming there.
