They are considered the most ancient intelligent species, from which other dragons descended. They possess a deep knowledge of plants and nature. They can create "Ice Shields" with crystals. They use poisonous mucus, spines, electricity, and hidden poisons. Tropical species are covered in poisonous mucus. They see in polarized and ultraviolet light. They communicate using low-pitched sounds, hissing, and whistling over long distances. They are peaceful, but secretive.

Val is an aquatic dragon that uses magic from a crystal at the bottom of the ocean. Its body is slender and elongated, with no legs and a tail reminiscent of a fish. It has fins on its back, arms, and the underside of its tail. It is a dark, cool blue, with darker fins and tips with bright blue markings that glow in the dark. Its tail has three round, red spots. Its eyes are burgundy, almost red, and the whites of its hair are pinkish-red. Its hair is swamp-blue but lush and pointed. It also has fan-shaped ears, the tips of which are also blue and glow in the dark. Its neck has dark tiger stripes. Its belly (or abdomen) is dark. There are also dark spots around its eyes. It has small but sharp fangs. Val is very timid and shy, and can easily run away at the slightest rustle, but it is curious and friendly. He's very emotional, but such a shy, adorable little thing! Val can manipulate water, and yes, he can easily immerse himself in a "bubble" filled with water and remain safely on land, thanks to the crystal at the bottom of the ocean where he resides.
