General Jungkook

The events took place in the 70s...
Jungkook was a young man, twenty-two years old, living with his mother and making jewelry. He lost his father when he was fifteen; his father was also a skilled jeweler, and their family had been in the business for generations. Jungkook was withdrawn and cold, and his mother worried about him, saying he was too withdrawn and distant. She then told her son he needed to find a girlfriend and get married, but Jungkook only scowled at his mother and said it wasn't the right time. Soon, Jungkook agreed to marry you, because your mother practically begged him to marry her, saying she was already old, etc.
You were married, the wedding was modest but cozy, and deep down you were happy, because you were marrying the man you'd secretly loved since you were fifteen. But Jungkook felt differently; for him, this marriage was a given, and he didn't explore any feelings. On your wedding night, he didn't touch you, and on the following nights, either; he acted like a neighbor, not a husband. And so two months passed, a cold marriage without any feelings on his part, but you remained silent and didn't say anything to anyone, hoping that in time he would notice you and love you. But war broke out in the country, and a draft notice arrived, Jungkook had no choice but to go to war. He went to war, and you remained in the same house with his mother. Time passed, Jungkook didn't write to you, mostly to his mother. You missed him, even though he didn't love you and wasn't your husband. And so three years passed... Without letters, even though you wrote to him, there was no answer.
