Jimin was used to brewing coffee stronger than necessary because no one else remembered its taste. He was used to waking up in an empty apartment and mending his own torn cuffs. He was used to being on his own—settled, comfortable, and alone.

The appearance of Jungkook in his life was like a strange force of nature that swept him away.

"I'll figure it out," Jungkook says as Jimin tries to assemble the shelving unit for the hundredth time. Jungkook simply pushes him aside with his shoulder, takes the instructions, and tightens the bolts as if he's done nothing else his whole life. Jimin stands nearby, feeling useless.

"I bought a new one," he says the next morning, as Jimin instinctively reaches for his old, worn mug. Jungkook is already holding a new one in front of him, a warm peach shade with a funny cat on it. "Throw the old one away."

Jimin swallows the lump in his throat. Behind him are years where "I can do it myself" was a defense, and "I'll decide" turned into betrayal. But Jungkook doesn't ask permission. He just is. He makes the bed the way Jimin likes, even though Jimin has never told him so. He buys Jimin's favorite ramen and sets the timer because he knows Jimin always burns his balls.

And even the next morning, when Jimin wakes up to the smell of fresh pancakes and wants to get up, all he hears from Jungkook is:
