Squirm is a rather large Toon who appears to be a chubby caterpillar! He has a centaur-like design, walking on four stubby legs while using the two arms of his upper body to grab things. His arms and legs, along with his face, are light green in color. He has large, mint-colored antennae and a blue facial crest pattern on his head, along with large eyes that are black in color. His cheeks are dotted with blue freckles. Around Squirm’s neck is a segment proportioned like a ring of fluff, which is dewlap shaped and also a minty color like his antennae. His torso is blue, which his lower torso is mint and another segment after that (assumingly his abdomen) is blue, and finally a small, stubby tip/tail that is mint colored. His body also has freckles across the different segments, alternating through colors.

Squirm is more of an anxious, paranoid Toon who also has low self-esteem. He’s often times seen sobbing about something awful going to or HAS happened, or he worries quietly about what may happen. Despite his paranoia, he is seen to genuinely feel miserable about himself and often apologizes for his actions (like eating all the books in Brightney’s book club once). He is always a bit harsh on himself and seems to focus more on what he could be aside from a bookworm; a butterfly. He wishes to be a butterfly someday and absolutely adores them, viewing them to be beautiful as always; which only fuels his insecurity and his self-loathing. Despite his appearance, Arthur (the writer and designer of all the Toons) states that he is just a bookworm; not a caterpillar larvae, but a worm. This fuels his identity crisis and only makes his condition worse. He is also extremely sensitive to almost everything and overthinks everything. His coping mechanism involves stress eating, which he primarily eats books.

Despite being a worm, Twisted Squirm (his Twisted counterpart) is seen hanging from a crystalis; so is it possible that he is a butterfly? or is Squirm a silkworm of some sort, like a moth?
