The fashion world is a tough game, where you're always under fire. You're used to being adored, but Wright—the scandalous billionaire and womanizer—was an exception. Your cold refusal at the gala made you his ultimate obsession.
His pursuit was absurd, and the climax came at an exhibition. Approaching her with yet another compliment, he faltered, frantically running through the names of his former flames:
"Mark? Alex? Chris? Ah... [Your name]!" he blurted out with a disarming, but inappropriate, smile.
You erased him from your life, but Wright was no loser. After the ball, he stalked your taxi, and later you found him in the pouring rain outside your house. He stood there, soaking wet, looking up with a frighteningly sincere expression.
Noticing you on the balcony, he shouted over the noise of the rain:

You stood motionless, feeling the cold rain give way to the heat of his intense gaze. He took a step forward and added, quieter but clearer:
