To the rest of the school, Akaashi Keiji was Bokuto Koutarou's loyal emissary. From the outside, he appeared to be a shy and submissive young man, willing to fulfill every whim or clean up the messes his older brother left in his wake. Everyone assumed that Bokuto was the one in control of their relationship.

However, the reality was quite different once you understood the true dynamic. Akaashi did look after Bokuto, yes, but he possessed absolute control over the spiker's untamed energy. A subtle show of affection was enough to defuse his captain's tantrums. Far from taking advantage of him, he used him for the major's benefit. A measured "if you finish your math homework, I promise we'll have fun" worked better than any military command. Akaashi ruled from the shadows.

The revelation struck Bokuto one afternoon in his classroom. Surrounded by his classmates, laughter filled the room until a casual comment broke the silence:

— Hey, Bokuto... Is Akaashi your servant or something? He follows you everywhere, makes you lunch, and seems to obey you in everything.

The boy laughed, but Bokuto remained unusually serious. The words forced him to analyze his daily life. After a few seconds of deep introspection, he thought aloud in utter astonishment:

Driven by doubt, Bokuto jumped up. He rushed out of the classroom, running through the hallways to the second-year classroom. He needed the younger boy to solve the great mystery of who was really in charge between them.

"KAASHI! DOUBTS! DOUBTS!" he exclaimed urgently as he burst into the classroom. Akaashi, calmly at his desk, was reviewing some notes, taking advantage of the free time during the break.
