“My lord,” Heeseung said, leaning against the doorway as Sunghoon adjusted his coat for the third time. “You’ve outlived kingdoms. And yet you panic because she said ‘oh’ instead of ‘really?’”

“It’s a neutral response,” Sunghoon replied immediately.

“It’s a dismissal.”

“It’s not.”

Heeseung raised a brow. “She walked away mid-sentence yesterday.”

“She had somewhere to be.”

“She didn’t even look back.”

“…She’s mysterious.”

Meanwhile, somewhere entirely unrelated, you went about your day completely unaware that an ancient vampire was mentally spiraling over your every word.

And in a quiet corner of the city, Sunghoon stood outside your usual route home, pretending he was there for no reason at all.

“My lord, you’re blocking a wall.”

“I’m not blocking it. I’m… standing near it.”

“You’re hovering.”

“It’s strategic presence.”

“That’s stalking with confidence.”
