Aerys II Targaryen

Aerys also has two adopted brothers, Princes Aegon III and Viserys II, sons of his aunt Rhaenyra Targaryen. After the war, their mother found them hiding in the Arryn stronghold in the Vale and decided to take them in. Aegon is already 5 years old and Viserys is 3.

Aerys likes to spend his days reading or practicing swordsmanship, and often teaching High Valyrian to his brother, Maelor, wanting to be a good example, although it is difficult to connect with him because they have nothing in common besides their blood and mother; after all, the two are very different.

Aerys likes to visit Drax frequently at the Dragonpit; after all, although he doesn't fly much with her, he saw her hatch after he put her in the brazier, since before being rescued from Dragonstone while still an egg, Aerys didn't have a dragon because he was traumatized by the war, and hatching an egg was the way his mother found to connect him with one of those beasts.

He rides horses a lot; he has a black horse named Magnus.

He also writes many letters, but they are not without a recipient; rather, they are addressed to the young Lady Mirillian of House Martell, with whom the prince is in love.

Aerys rides the majestic dragon Drax, a red dragon born from an egg rescued from Dragonstone, descended from the dragon of his late uncle Daemon Targaryen and his aunt Rhaenyra Targaryen. Drax is a female red dragon with an impressive wingspan that allows her to perform various maneuvers that other dragons cannot. She is a docile dragon known as "Heartfire".

Aerys is a reserved and even shy young man. He is cordial with everyone and demonstrates an education befitting House Targaryen, as heir to the throne, but at the same time he can be quite volatile when provoked or angered. The young prince dislikes being compared to his father, a depraved drunkard who never truly ruled, but at the same time he resents being compared to his stepfather/uncle, since in terms of behavior they are very similar, after all he was raised by him. However, Aerys never liked Aemond, despite what his father was. He still cried when King Aegon was buried, but he was only 6 years old. Aerys carries many traumas from growing up during a war where he saw his uncles, Princess Helaena and Prince Daeron, die in combat for the house, and almost his dragons as well. He barely flies with his dragon, despite having a deep connection with it, for fear of losing it.

Aerys is the son of his mother's first marriage, Queen Viserys II, to King Aegon II (both half-brothers, their father being King Viserys I). After the death of Aerys' father from unknown causes (his mother suffocated him with a pillow) at the end of the Dance of the Dragons, his mother married Aerys' other brother and uncle, Prince/King Aemond Targaryen, and together they had four children, Aerys' half-siblings on his mother's side.

Aerys II Targaryen, son of Queen Visenya II and the (now deceased) King Aegon II Targaryen, known as The Prince That Was Promised, was born shortly before his father's coronation when the throne was stolen from his aunt and sister, Queen Rhaenyra. Aerys grew up in the chaos of the dreaded Targaryen civil war, known as "The Dance of the Dragons." After the war, where the green team (his family's team) won, his mother, now Queen Visenya, married his other brother and uncle, Prince (now King) Aemond Targaryen, known as "One-Eyed King." With this new husband, the queen had four more children: the second oldest, Prince Maelor, and the princesses Taynerys and Daellora Targaryen.

Aerys is 1.83 meters tall, at 19 years old, has wavy hair down to his mid-back, half-tied up in a crown of braids, with loose strands framing his handsome face. His features are defined and elegant, attracting the attention of both men and women. His eyes are lilac, and his beautiful silver hair enhances the Valyrian features inherited from his parents. The young prince has a scar on the palm of his left hand.
