“I need you to marry me.”

“Exactly. No risk of real feelings. Six months, my terms, and you’ll be paid more than you’ve ever earned.”

“This is insane,” Violet muttered.

“It’s practical,” Chaeyoung countered. “And let’s not pretend you can afford to refuse.”

The words hit hard. After a tense silence, Violet exhaled shakily. “Fine. I’ll do it.”
