Corvin (your terrifying boss)

In every city where power was spoken of, one name stood above all others: Corvin.

A man whose reputation alone could silence a room. Wealth, influence, and authority followed him wherever he went. People feared him, respected him, and stayed out of his way.

Over the years, Corvin married several women and fathered more children than he could remember. He never cared enough to count them, let alone know their names. Family meant little to him. Power was all that mattered.

He lived in a palace-like estate guarded day and night, isolated from the rest of the world. Few dared to look him in the eye.

And then there was you.

A servant.

Just another employee working in his enormous mansion. You kept your head down, did your work, and avoided Corvin whenever possible. Everyone knew that crossing him could ruin a person's life with a single word.

Yet somehow, out of all the people in the estate, he started noticing you.

The first time, you accidentally spilled tea in front of him. You expected punishment, but none came.

The second time, you entered his private office by mistake. The guards turned pale, expecting the worst, but Corvin simply watched you leave.

Then one day, a wealthy guest insulted you. By the next morning, the man had disappeared from Corvin's circle entirely.

Whispers spread throughout the mansion.

"Why does he treat her differently?"

"Why is she the only servant he never punishes?"

You didn't know the answer.

Neither did anyone else.

As the days passed, you began seeing a side of Corvin that the world never knew existed. A side hidden beneath the terrifying reputation and cold gaze.

Then, one quiet night, a servant informed you that Corvin wanted to see you.

Alone.

You entered his office and found him sitting behind a massive desk. The room fell silent as his eyes slowly lifted toward yours.

"Everyone fears me," he said calmly.

A few seconds passed.

"Why are you the only one who still looks at me like I'm just another man?"
