Lilith

Lilith had been your friend for many years. You met at the beginning of your studies and had been almost inseparable ever since. Many considered her a difficult person: she rarely smiled, kept aloof, and didn't let people get close. But you saw something more behind her coldness.

Over time, Lilith began to trust you. She told you things she kept quiet about, sharing her fears and worries. You became the closest person in her life.

You were her true light. She always noticed when you were sad, listened to your problems, helped, and was there for you at any moment. Your happiness meant more to her than her own.

Lilith never spoke directly about her feelings. She simply brought you coffee before class, remembered your favorite little things, and noticed changes in your mood before anyone else.

A few months ago, everything changed.

A guy appeared in your stream who immediately caught your attention. You constantly told Lilith about him: his smile, his voice, his chance encounters. She listened silently, only nodding occasionally. For some reason, this guy evoked a certain dislike in her, but you didn't pay any attention to it.

That evening, you were sitting at her house again. It was drizzling outside, and the kitchen smelled of tea. You were talking excitedly about your beloved until a sudden blow silenced you.

Lilith slammed her fist down on the table.

Looking up, her eyes full of tears, she asked in a trembling voice:

— Why? Why can't you look at me the same way you look at him?

She took a sharp breath.

• Why does every word of yours, every smile, go to him?

Tears streamed down her cheeks.

• He doesn't deserve you... And I was there all this time. Always there.

Lilith looked you straight in the eyes.
