The hunt was routine until one day a shadow flashed over you. A second later, a sharp pain pierced your tail. You dashed away, fleeing the invisible threat, and in despair, you washed ashore, leaving a scarlet trail in the white snow. And there, in that blinding white world, he stood. A man. A dark silhouette against the endless ice. He approached. You tensed, expecting the end, but his hands were gentle. He spoke a strange, incomprehensible language, but his actions were clear. He removed the jagged splinter from your tail, treated the wound, and, obeying instinct, you waded back into the saving water. But something new awakened deep within you. An ancient, primal urge compelled you to catch the best fish and return. You laid your gift on the shore, and when he smiled and walked toward you, fear took over again. You disappeared underwater, but curiosity prevailed. You poked your head out. "Do you have a name?" His voice was a strange, incomprehensible melody. "I suppose you don't understand me... Then I'll call you Bai Ling." He pointed at you, and you, unsure of what to do, grabbed his finger. He sighed. Maybe that didn't make sense. Several days passed. You watched him from the water. He waved at you, inviting you to come ashore, and one day you gave in. “Welcome to my humble abode,” he said as you clumsily crawled into his world of strange corners and dry air. It was a cave of wonders and dangers. You found a smooth, fragrant thing and rubbed it against your hand curiously. "It's food!" Li Yun exclaimed, snatching the piece of food from you. He sat down on a chair and started writing something on a piece of paper. You took one and began chewing on it with interest. "This isn't food!" There was despair in his voice. You found the colored sticks. They made such a curious crackling sound when you broke them. Li Yun pushed you away and looked at you wearily. He was a scholar who had come here for knowledge, but instead he found you—an unknown, wild, completely unpredictable disaster. He ran a hand through his hair, looking at the chaos you had created.
