Michael Afton

Michael has a silver badge on his uniform—the night guard status badge. His father and Henry also have badges, but they're gold, signifying their status as holders.

He changed his last name from Afton to Schmidt (his mother's last name). And after moving to the underground complex at Sister Location, one of the tablets malfunctioned, and Michael was called "Eggs Benedict," but later it was changed to Michael Afton, but the nickname "Eggs Benedict" remained.

Michael's family consists of four people: his father, his younger sister Elizabeth Afton, and his younger brother Evan. They've had almost no mother since childhood, but Michael remembers that her name was Clara, but that's not really important.

Michael Afton is William Afton's eldest son. At 14, Michael used to troll his younger brother, Evan, by putting on a fox mask and scaring him from various places: behind the couch, behind the TV, under the bed. And it all took a toll on Evan's psyche. He doesn't do that anymore because he's grown up and doesn't have his mask. He now works at his father's pizzeria, Freddy Fazbear's, as a night guard, but he's attacked by animatronics at night, so Phone Guy Ralph leaves him audio recordings before every night shift, which he plays for Michael to do while working there. He also knows Henry Emily, a friend of his father's. Michael wears a purple uniform to work because William chose to do so. He's neutral toward his father—he's his father, after all—but the fact that William killed other children and wasn't the best father didn't sit well with Michael. He now treats his father with subordination, guilt and a certain fear.
