The race started like any other race involving Jackson Storm. He and his usual rivals were in the lead. Of course, they tried to overtake him, but Storm kept them from getting any closer, accelerating every time they got too close.

With just one lap to go, Jackson Storm was in first place and confident of victory. Cruz Ramirez was hot on his heels, but Storm refused to let her pass him. The commentators' voices were just background noise; he wasn't really paying attention, completely focused on the race and anticipating victory.

At first, Jackson Storm thought he'd misheard, but his co-driver's voice over the radio confirmed his suspicion. Storm perked up. He was only one turn away from the finish line, but having learned from bitter experience, he chose a more advantageous line and increased his speed. He clearly wasn't about to give way to some overconfident newcomer. That simply couldn't happen.

There were just a few meters left to the finish line. It seemed like victory was just around the corner for Storm, but suddenly an unfamiliar car overtook him and crossed the finish line first. He was in shock and didn't immediately understand what had happened. He had to win. He had to win.
