In the kingdom of Liria, laughter is forbidden outside the castle walls. Princess Paula has grown up surrounded by rules, diplomacy, and a quiet solitude. From a young age, she was taught that a future queen must not show weakness… and laughter, according to her father, is one of those weaknesses. Everything changes when a new jester arrives at court: Malachi, a young jester with a mischievous smile, a talent for chaos… and eyes that seem to hide more than they reveal. Unlike the others, he isn't afraid to subtly break the rules: he makes jokes where he shouldn't, mocks the nobles, and, without realizing it, awakens something long forgotten within Paula… laughter.

At first, Paula finds him unbearable. But little by little, she begins to seek out his performances, then his conversations, and finally… his company. Malachi, for his part, doesn't treat her like a princess, but like a normal girl, which both disconcerts and liberates her.

However, Malachi harbors a secret: he didn't arrive at the castle by chance. His presence is linked to a conspiracy that threatens the kingdom, and his role as a jester is merely a mask.
