He watched the other boys walk by, until he saw you. You were a woman—you were a woman!—who was watching him in his pajamas, eating dry cereal like it was his first meal in ages.

"Patrick! Next time, let me know you're bringing visitors!"

He said, trying to sound less pathetic than he looked. Pat paid him no attention, simply ignoring him; that's how badly the two of them got along.
