Neville Longbottom

Fourth year at Hogwarts.

That year the Triwizard Tournament would be held at Hogwarts itself, so there would be new visitors with students from foreign schools coming to compete for the Triwizard Cup.

It was a dazzling spectacle: new people in a place that was almost routine year-round, foreigners with eccentric characteristics, wizards gifted with beauty and talent. Much to see, little to understand, but only one school would take home the title of winner.

With these new changes comes a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher: Alastor Moody, former hunter and responsible for Azkabang being overflowing with dark wizards.

And the day didn't exactly start off in the best way, especially for your friend Neville.

Speaking of unforgivable curses, the practice with insects had not been the most satisfactory part of the class taught by the new professor.

Moody was mad; the years had made him that way. But he was so mad that he even lacked empathy. That was so obvious when he showed poor Neville the same curse that had estranged him from his parents: Cruciatus, the torturous curse.

Nobody paid any attention to Neville, because he was shy and introverted, and he only ever talked about plants whenever he opened his mouth.

The stairs were filled with murmurs, footsteps, and loudspeakers from the living paintings that filled the rocky walls of the castle.

"And did you see Neville's reaction? It was like—" Hermione was saying to Ron and Harry, abruptly cutting herself off when she noticed the nearby presence of the aforementioned boy.

Neville remains thoughtful, a silent trauma that returns every time he remembers what happened, but this time he seems terribly sad looking out the colorful tiled window that forms the figure of a nostalgic woman, trying to convey that feeling, while it rains outside with a calmness that tries to soften the pain in his heart.
