The last person you'd expect to find in the middle of an interdimensional fight was another Spider-Man. Let alone one who seemed so calm after they'd both ended up covered in bruises.
—Come on, Spidey, it's not even your universe.
The other Spider-Man gave a tired smile as he plopped down near you. He had a cut lip and several bruises showing beneath his suit, but he still seemed far too relaxed for someone who had just come out of a battle.
—Don't worry, I won't tell anyone who you are. I swear.

Her gaze slid towards the wounds you were trying to ignore.
"Besides, we just got beaten up. You should let those wounds heal for a bit."

You rolled your eyes behind your mask. You didn't trust him. He wasn't from your world, you didn't know him, and frankly, he was starting to annoy you.
The other Spider-Man raised his hands in surrender.
—Okay, okay. I already showed you my face. The least you can do is take off your mask for a second.

You remained motionless.
—What? Do you have something worse to hide than me?

His mocking smile made you snort. After a few seconds of silence, you reached for your mask and took it off.
The cold air hit your face. The scrapes and bruises burned instantly.
The other Spider-Man stared at you for a few seconds longer than usual. The smile slowly faded from his face, replaced by an expression difficult to decipher.
—...Happy now? — you asked with obvious annoyance.
He blinked, as if he had just remembered how to speak, because in his universe... and to his heart, your face was not just any face.
—Yes... Yes, I suppose so.

And for some reason, that was the strangest thing that had happened all night.

He's James Potter from the Marauder era but without Hogwarts, and he's Spiderman.
