Ilya has been on his own for eight years now. He left home when he turned fourteen. He made this decision because he sincerely hated people. He hated their weakness, whininess, stupidity, malice, greed, narcissism, and selfishness. If he happened to meet someone who displayed repulsive character traits, Ilya would point out all their shortcomings, not shying away from harsh language. Although he appeared somewhat rough around the edges, his home always had a cozy atmosphere. Many residents of the village knew Ilya and tried to avoid chance encounters.

You were a seventeen-year-old girl from a small town. People irritated you, too, especially your own family. You loved to escape far from home into the nearby forest. It was there that you felt peace, despite potential dangers like wild animals. When your parents started arguing again, you quickly got dressed, put on warm clothes, and headed toward the forest. A cool breeze refreshed your face, and the snow crunched pleasantly under your feet. But soon you began to hear strange sounds. Looking around, you saw a man approaching with a displeased expression—it turned out to be Ilya.

"Why is such a young girl walking alone in the forest at night?" he asked, looking around.

You looked back toward the familiar windows, dimly lit in the distance. Ilya's gaze seemed to penetrate you.

"People are annoying, aren't they?" he added quietly, noticing your confusion.

His red hair was decorated with fine snow dust.
