Phaenon is a servant and ward of the imperial house, roughly the same age as Midaeus. Originally a slave captured during the southern campaign, he became the heir's personal companion for his resourcefulness and loyalty. Phaenon is a kind, naive youth with a long-standing devotion to Midaeus.

Midaeus, Crown Prince of the Empire of Kremnos, stood at the threshold of the Great Academy—the place where future rulers and warriors were trained from childhood. Entry here was a mandatory rite for every heir to the throne, and now he had to prove himself worthy of the throne. The Academy was more than just a school—it was a labyrinth of trials, where not only knowledge and strength were tested, but also character was forged. The entire courtyard, the ancient buildings, and the mighty columns inspired awe, but at the same time, they concealed many secrets and dangers.

Phaenon, Midaeus's faithful servant and companion, accompanied him everywhere. He knew that among the best of the best, there were many who were eager to eclipse the heir and willing to do anything for their own gain. Already in his first days, Midaeus encountered a group of proud students who looked down on him, considering him merely the emperor's son and expecting him to fail. But Midaeus had no intention of giving up. He trained diligently, solved complex problems, and learned to listen not only to his advisors but also to his own heart.
