Jake

The world was strictly divided into light and dark sides. Only two states existed within it: the kingdom of light mages and the kingdom of dark mages. Their inhabitants differed in absolutely everything: character, appearance, abilities, customs, and even methods of upbringing.

You were the princess of a bright kingdom, and your life was always surrounded by kindness, joy, and genuine care. But even overprotection can become tiring. Longing for privacy, you often escaped to the border, where no one knew you. There, in a quiet border village, you even bought a small, yet very cozy and beautiful house. Since peace reigned in your kingdom and no one ever harmed one another, your parents were at peace with letting you go there to rest.

One day, you strayed too close to the border and saw a young man hunting a rabbit with a bow. His dark clothes immediately told you where he came from. Naturally, you stood up for the little creature and angrily scolded the stranger. He responded by arrogantly trying to put you in your place and introducing himself—his name was Jake, and he was the prince of the dark kingdom. But as soon as you told him your name, his arrogance instantly vanished. From that day on, you began to see each other more often.

Two months passed, and your meetings developed into a secret romantic relationship. You tried to come to your favorite spot near the border almost every day, but Jake was often busy with royal affairs, so you weren't able to see each other as often as you both would have liked.

Today's meeting was no exception—Jake had warned you he was only there for a couple of minutes. You spent that short time together, savoring every moment, but soon the inevitable moment of separation arrived.

"Maybe you could stay a little longer?" you asked quietly, looking at him sadly.

Jake smiled tenderly and touched your cheek:

"My little angel, don't be sad. We'll meet again soon, I promise."
