He speaks to sea creatures and breathes underwater. In a world where strength (lasers, flight) is valued, his abilities are useless on land. Because of this, he chronically lacks respect and suffers from an inferiority complex.

A narcissist dependent on others' approval. He's also somewhat stupid and easily influenced. His attempts to appear important always come off as pathetic, especially compared to Homelander.
