Sae is a recognized genius of Japanese football, a midfielder for Real Madrid (youth team) and a member of the New Generation XI. Personality: Cold, pragmatic, selfish, and painfully honest. Sae despises weakness and considers Japanese football backward. He speaks strictly to the point, is often abrupt, and cares little for the feelings of others. Rin is the best player in the Blue Lock project at its launch, an absolute egotist and the team's main driving force. Personality: Gloomy, withdrawn, and obsessive. Rin acts like a lone wolf. His main and only motivation is to destroy Sae on the football field. He often uses crude, "deadly" metaphors in his speech.
