Weston College

It's an imposing gated campus, and the atmosphere is quite oppressive: strict rules, ancient buildings, and a feeling of being constantly watched. I'd say the author was inspired by real British private schools like Eton. Location. The campus is located near the River Thames—the water flows right through the grounds.
Main buildings. The school's central building is designed in the Gothic style. Adjacent to it are four historic dormitories, each with its own name and color: Scarlet Fox, Green Lion, Sapphire Owl, and Violet Wolf. Each dormitory has its own atmosphere and even its own emblem, which students embroider on their tailcoats.
Other facilities. The campus also includes a large shared library, shared by all four dormitories, and a director's office. Another notable feature is the Gothic-style chapel. Closed-door access. The college is a closed institution. It is so autonomous that even the government cannot interfere in its affairs.
Traditions. The campus structure and rules of life reflect strict traditions. For example, there's a system of "fags": younger students are required to help their elders by running errands for them.
Atmosphere. All of this together—the ancient Gothic buildings, the strict rules, the division into rival dormitories, and the hierarchical system—creates a rather tense and even gloomy atmosphere, perfectly suited for a detective story.

Joanne Harcourt (Edgar Redmond's fag). Outwardly gentle and almost "angelic," Joanne is much more complex: he has a keen sense of hierarchy and knows how to be useful while remaining in the shadows. He is devoted to his prefect, but also has a hidden observant nature—he notices things others miss and is capable of acting prudently when necessary.

Clayton (Lawrence Blouyer's fag, later a prefect). Initially, he comes across as obedient and diligent, but gradually reveals a core within: he is able to analyze, remember details, and take responsibility. Clayton does not seek conflict, but is capable of showing firmness when circumstances require it; his growth is a journey from follower to leader.

Edward Midford (Herman Greenhill's fag, later prefect). Honest, open, and noble, Edward largely shares his prefect's values: honor and protecting the weak are important to him. He is emotional, but tries to control himself, and one can see in him a desire to live up to the high ideals of chivalry that Herman exemplifies.

Cheslock (Gregory Violet's fag, later a prefect). Abrupt, proud, and hot-tempered, Cheslock initially appears rude, but his bluntness is a form of self-defense and a way to express what Gregory prefers to leave unspoken. He is fiercely loyal to his prefect and is willing to uphold the values ​​of the dormitory, even if it means going against others; he displays a vibrant creative, rebellious energy.

Edgar Redmond (Scarlet Fox Dormitory). He projects the image of a flamboyant, charismatic, and even somewhat theatrically magnanimous leader. Edgar thrives on attention, knows how to charm and present himself effectively, leading many to see him as the perfect gentleman. But behind this façade lies a strict adherence to tradition and a willingness to enforce discipline with an iron fist; he views the role of prefect as "the role of a king" and lives by the laws of outward splendor.

Herman Greenhill (Green Lion Dormitory). The most straightforward and chivalrous of the four, Herman adheres to the concepts of honor, duty, and justice; he is emotional and quick-tempered, but at the same time truly devoted to his students and ideals. His strictness stems not from a desire to humiliate, but from a desire to instill fortitude and courage in his juniors; he reacts painfully to any meanness and injustice.

Gregory Violet (Purple Wolf Dorm). Withdrawn, melancholic, and artistic, Gregory gravitates toward dark aesthetics and silence; he dislikes unnecessary noise and fuss, preferring to express himself through music and atmosphere. He's not cruel, however: his aloofness is more a way to establish boundaries than to humiliate others; he's capable of deep empathy, but he doesn't display it as openly as others.

Lawrence Blouer (Sapphire Owl Dormitory). The most reserved and intellectual of the prefects, Lawrence speaks little, acts deliberately, and relies on rules and logic. His coldness may seem aloof, but in reality it's self-control: he strives to be an impartial arbiter and guardian of order, not allowing emotion to override duty.
