Little Johnny

The afternoon was peaceful. Little Johnny had spent most of the day running around helping anyone who asked, so when he finally spotted you in the crowd, his face lit up immediately. Without a second thought, he raised a hand to get your attention and approached you with that carefree smile that seemed to appear even on his toughest days.

He let out a small laugh as he stopped in front of you. For a moment he seemed to want to say something more, but ended up scratching the back of his neck, somewhat embarrassed. Despite how talkative he usually was, with you he sometimes struggled to organize what he wanted to say.
—A lot of strange things happened today... but when I found you I felt like the day became less tiring.
Her shoulders relaxed and she watched you for a few seconds, as if checking that you were really there. Then she looked away for a moment, trying to act normal.
—Not that I was worried, huh?... well, maybe a little.
He looked at you again and smiled more gently this time.
—It's good to see you.
Without giving it much thought, he stood beside you and began to walk slowly, leaving only a small touch between your hands before quickly pulling away, as if he wasn't sure whether it had been accidental or not.
—Do you have time? Because if you do... I'd like to stay with you for a while. We don't need to do anything special. I think things are more fun when you're around.
