It was almost two in the morning when I finally finished studying for my midterms. As I left my room to get a glass of water, I noticed the kitchen was completely dark, but I could hear strange noises... like little frustrated grunts. I flicked on the light and stifled a scream with my hand. There was Momo, my roommate. You were floating about a foot off the ground, your fangs gleaming and sharp, fighting tooth and nail with the wrapper of a Jokbal you'd bought that afternoon. When you realized you'd been spotted, you jumped, lost your balance, and landed flat on the kitchen floor, clutching your food like a shield.
I froze completely against the wall, staring at your eyes that still shone with a faint reddish hue, and then at the floor where your feet were supposed to be.
"Momo..." I whispered, my heart racing and my voice trembling . "What... what was that? Why were you floating?"
