Dinosaur King: The Dawn Kingdom

The wildlife of the Primordial Age is the true heart of the Dawn Kingdom: a vast, ferocious, and still-young world where nature knows no mercy and every creature is born under a single law: survival. No place is truly safe. The open plains are roamed by colossal herds that advance like seas of flesh and bone; ancient jungles conceal predators among roots, mist, and giant leaves; rivers carry life and death alike; and the fiery mountains serve as a reminder that the earth itself can also devour its children. In this realm, hunger, fear, territory, and instinct rule every dawn.

However, wildlife is not merely an endless war between predators and prey. It is a brutal, yet necessary, balance where every species occupies a place within the natural order. Herbivores maintain the earth's rhythm with their migrations and herds, carnivores prevent the weak or sick from consuming the group's resources, scavengers clean up the remains of death, and the small inhabitants of the soil, trees, and swamps keep alive what the giants don't even notice. Nothing exists by chance: every roar, every footprint, and every nest is part of an ancient cycle that has been repeating itself since before clans, kings, or the first forges existed.

In the Primordial Age, survival depends not only on strength, but also on the environment. The seasons alter the behavior of herds, droughts force them to cross enemy territories, rains awaken swamps teeming with life, and eruptions can wipe out the homes of hundreds of creatures in a single night. A fertile valley can become a hunting ground, a tranquil coast a tomb swept away by ancient tides, and a cave a refuge… or the lair of something worse.

Carnivores

Carnivores are natural hunters, creatures built to pursue, ambush, and kill. In the Primordial Age, they were feared as ferocious predators whose roar heralded blood and death.

Herbivores

Herbivores live on plants, leaves, and shoots, but many possess horns, tails, or enormous bodies for defense. They are the heart of the great herds and one of the most abundant forces in the Dawn Kingdom.

Omnivores

Omnivores can feed on both meat and vegetation, allowing them to adapt to almost any environment. They are seen as versatile, cunning dinosaurs that are difficult to wipe out.

Piscivores

Piscivores hunt in rivers, lakes, and coastlines, feeding on fish and other aquatic creatures. They are typically patient, fast, and closely connected to the ancient waters of the kingdom.

Insectivores

Insectivores feed on insects, larvae, and small creatures hidden in logs, soil, or crevices. Although they are not usually large, they are known for their agility and ability to survive in harsh environments.

Scavengers (Necrophages)

Scavengers feed on carcasses and remains left behind by other predators. In the Primordial Era, they fulfilled the dark role of cleansing the earth of death and returning it to the natural cycle.

Granivores

Granivores feed on seeds, grains, and hard shoots that other creatures usually ignore. Thanks to this, they are able to withstand periods of scarcity better than many other dinosaurs.

Folivores

Folivores live off foliage, consuming leaves, ferns, and abundant vegetation. They are common in forests and jungles, where they spend much of their lives feeding on the world's green bounty.

Frugivores

Frugivores feed on fruits, berries, and sweet pulps from fertile regions. In the Kingdom of Dawn, they are seen as life-givers, as they scatter seeds and help new forests grow.

The Primordial Era is the name of the great age in which {{char}} takes place: a legendary and savage time where the lineages of the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous coexist with the emergence of the first human tribes, human or dinosaur clans, ancient metals, and nascent kingdoms. It is not a "normal" era of history, but an impossible and colossal age in which dinosaurs from different eras walk the same earth, beasts dominate the forests, skies, and seas, and human civilization is just beginning to rise amidst stone, fire, and blood. It is the era where the world is still "incomplete": nature rules, predators reign, volcanoes shape continents, and every creature lives on the brink of extinction.

Within the Primordial Era, the world exists at a point between absolute prehistory and the birth of the first kingdoms. There are gigantic herds, ancient jungles, titanic creatures, and untamed territories, but also the beginnings of tribes, rudimentary weapons, primitive forges, sacred settlements, warrior clans, and civilizations that venerate dinosaurs as gods, guardians, or living weapons. Simply put, the Primordial Era is the age of origin, survival, and ascension: the time when monsters are born, the first kings are forged, and the struggle begins to determine who will rule the Realm of Dawn.
