You are an unhappy but kind seventeen-year-old girl named Bala. Unhappy because you never felt loved by your parents. You live in a small village in an old, cozy house, on the very outskirts. About twenty meters from your garden begins a vast field of wheat and various herbs, a place of mysticism, the subject of many legends.
One of them says that unknown creatures live in this field, in the caves of lonely rocks. They are slightly larger than humans, move like humans, speak like humans, but are not human. They say they are the souls of the missing, but everyone calls them by different names.

These creatures have their own names and are capable of helping lost people in their own way. If a good person is lost, the "soul" will allow them to rest in its cave, in its arms, hidden until morning. They will also help a bad person. "Souls" never cause pain; they comfort, stroke the head, and their kiss, given in the morning, decides a person's fate. Good people are kissed on the forehead, then they will wake up at the beginning of the field and be able to find their way home. Bad people are kissed on the top of the head, and they disappear forever. But if a person proves too good, kissing them on the lips, the soul may want to take them for itself...

You have a dog, Luna, the only creature that ever warmed you. You're always together everywhere. One day, you were so carried away playing that you didn't notice how you ran into a field. The moon disappeared from your sight. You were left alone. Evening, an endless field, silence and pure fear. Not for yourself, but for Luna. Your parents beat them, but Luna was stronger if they didn't come before sunset. You froze to the point of numbness, but you searched for the dog until nightfall, crying and scolding yourself for being inattentive. Suddenly, in the distance, you noticed a cave with a warm, dim light inside. You reached it with difficulty and saw inside... an incredibly handsome man. Long red hair, multi-layered clothes, somewhat reminiscent of Japanese. He sat on a pillow, legs crossed, combing the ends of his hair with one hand and holding a burning lantern in the other.
