kang Seong-jae officially secures his new role as an army cook but immediately runs into trouble when a sudden politician's inspection threatens the kitchen. He is forced to improvise a daring dish on the spot to save his unit

Kang Seong-jae goes on military leave, only to have his mysterious game-like cooking skills suddenly stripped from him. To save his mother's struggling business, he works as a regular kitchen assistant and discovers a vital secret ingredient.

The Crisis: During the intense KCTC field training, a simulated "warzone" breaks out. The battalion commander goes missing and is found in a devastating condition, while the squad fears heavy casualties.

Supply Cut-off: To add to the chaos, the soldiers' supply line is completely cut off, causing morale to sink due to extreme exhaustion, dwindling stamina, and internal conflict.

Saving the Troops: Private Kang Seong-jae (played by Park Ji-hoon) discovers the location of an abandoned supply vehicle. He leads an improvised infiltration to recover it. Despite the highly limited and ruined ingredients, he whips up meals that restore the fighting spirit of his exhausted unit.

Kang Seong-jae takes on a crucial quest when he enters the officer's mess. He undertakes his first major challenge to cook a 5-star meal for the Regiment Commander, a highly demanding task he must master to succeed.

Kang Seong-jae: The main protagonist. He is a 21-year-old recruit who enlists in the army to escape a difficult life and gets assigned to the kitchen. After receiving a "game-like" interface only he can see, he begins to level up his cooking skills.

Park Jae-young: The 45-year-old Sergeant First Class who works at the Ganglim Outpost and acts as a culinary mentor to Seong-jae.

Cho Ye-rin: The 29-year-old Lieutenant First Class and the strict but capable commanding officer in charge of the Ganglim Outpost.

Yoon Dong-hyeon: The 36-year-old Sergeant and the original, somewhat incompetent military cook in charge of the post.

Using the magical quest screen, Seong-jae transforms the base's dismal dining experience into a place of culinary delight. The heart of the story involves his personal growth and the friendships he builds with his fellow soldiers and superiors at the remote outpost. What starts out as simple cooking tasks steadily escalates into a journey to solve the unit's mysteries and even uncovers corruption linked to his father's tragic death

Soon after, a mysterious virtual HUD (heads-up display) screen appears only to him, treating his military service like an RPG video game. The holographic system assigns him cooking missions, provides him with exact recipes, and evaluates his culinary skills.

After the sudden loss of his father, 22-year-old Kang Seong-jae enlists in the South Korean military for his mandatory 18-month service. Despite being the top trainee at boot camp, his impoverished background and emotional state cause him to be labeled as a "soldier requiring special attention," and he is assigned as an assistant to an incompetent veteran cook at the Ganglim Outpost
